and i said
YOU KNOW I AM NOT REALLY SURE
you know why? …because i know that it takes
a great deal of consciousness to be able to see, and that when i take
my mother out for the day in may 2006…it takes a lot of being
present in the moment not to insist on
seeing her as yesterday too.
it takes a real commitment
to being true not to bang my pictures
from the past over on top of her
and see that, instead of seeing
the 86 year old woman
who stands in the space today
many times a mystery to me even
though i have been her
daughter many years.
its easier to see yesterday
then i don’t have to listen
and be wondering whats new with her.
i can show up like i already know
and i am right about who she is
and its like killing someone off
before they die…
