Fanning the Flame of Christmas
it takes an effort to get past “being exhausted with the holidays” …..
unfinished activities and thwarted intentions drain away vitality.
this season could easily have many concerns that are not resolved.
paying attention to what we give our attention to, is required.
the season to be glad andjoyous runs into great competition with:
spending money, wishing for the moon, spinning wheels and regretting not doing more.
the temptation to make yourself wrong, to make others wrong, to make the day wrong, to remember old sorrows,
and to be resentful, cranky and depressed is strong.
don’t fall into the trap.
FAN THE FLAME OF CHRISTMAS because you can….
you are equipped to recreate and reinvent reactions. it is our creative privilege to redirect attention.
expectancy for getting everything can become eagerness to give everything.
if people turn CHRISTMAS into another reason for unhappiness, the idea of light overcoming darkness will fade…
we will be left at the mall in the garish light of machines. the manger will be a lonely memory.
our job today is to FAN THE FLAME OF CHRISTMAS, so that it warms the world.
